One of the must do things of people visiting Delhi is eating out! Delhi's famous food include all kind cuisine available in India. 

If you have a sweet tooth, then what can be better than a glass of lassi with cream in it. Jalebi, a popular sweet made out of fermented batter fried and dipped in sugar syrup and can be eaten at any time of the day. 

Gulab Jamun is one other soft and delicate desert of India which has a very unique taste.  Kheer happen to be cooked out of milk and rice is a very traditional sweet which allows all kinds of dry fruits to get involved.

Street Food in Delhi

You have visited Delhi and left the city without tasting Delhi's famous street food! Then it is another valid reason for you to return to Delhi once more to get a taste of Delhi's street food. Aloo Tikki is one famous street food which is crispy cutlet made out of boiled potatoes. 

Alu Chaat is also one mouthwatering street food which is a spicy combination of cutlet and the tangy salty spices. Chole Puri which is curry of the chick peas and is even considered as  a very special dish in the street food.  Pav bhaji is one tiny meal that is to be tasted and it is served with pavs fried lightly in butter along with bhaji made out of a few vegetables. 

Also samosa chat, sev puri, chowmein, dilli kay chole kulcha  are some of the spicy and the mouthwatering items available on the streets of Delhi. Without the gol gappas (pani puri) and the Bhalla papdi a summer evening cannot be fulfilled in Delhi.

If you are talking of food in Delhi, food of Old Delhi needs special mention. Parathas with different fillings, chats, kebabs, biriyani and mutton curries form the backbone of Old Delhi food which still has a flavour of  Mughlai cuisine.
