Lodhi Colony Market in Delhi

Lodhi Colony lies nearby the Lodhi road and is touted as the quietest residential area in Delhi. It is located in the posh Southern district of the city. The market was set up in around 1945.

Lodhi Colony basically houses three major markets, viz. Khan market, Khanna market and the Meherchand market. Even though the latter ones are not as popular as the Khan market, the Khanna market and the Meherchand market have a lot many things to keep visitors glued.

Meherchand Market

One of the oldest markets in Delhi, the Meherchand market which was initially dominated by the tailoring shops, now boasts of being a new favorite of the retailers and designers.

The restaurants of Khanna market are not known to most of the people who often dine out in the so popular lounges and bars of Khan market. The Devans South Indian Coffee and Tea is one such place that offers very fine filter coffee.

If you are not short of time then pay a visit to the magnificent Safdarjung Tomb, which is at a distance of about 2 kilometers from the market.

How to Reach: Lodhi Colony Market can be reached easily via local transit options. One can take local bus from the JLN metro station (Violet Line) like that of route no. 794, 970, 588, 745 to reach here in around 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, one can take a local bus from Jor Bagh metro station (Yellow Line).
Closed: Most of the stores are open seven days; one can find some shops closed on Sundays.
