Janpath is one of the most popular markets in Delhi. Janpath means “Jan-People Path-Path” that is “People’s path” named in early 90’s. Janpath Delhi, is located on the Radial Road1 that starts from Connaught place

Janpath, Connaught place, Palika Bazar are famous shopping areas of Delhi. A road from Connaught place named as Radial Road1 leads to Janpath and Palika Bazar. The road that leads to Janpath, Delhi, is also connected to “Rajpath” or “Queen’s Way”.

Janpath Market Delhi has many things (without guarantee) that you may not find in malls. Janpath market is famous as budget shopping market.  You may find street full of boutiques and other shops. A must visit place in Janpath market is Central Cottage Industries Emporium (CCIE). At this place you can buy traditional Indian handicrafts/fabrics/linen. You can buy bags with mirror work and needle work which are made in Rajasthan.

Nearby is the Tibetan market which offers a good range of arts and crafts from Himalaya. This market remains closed on Sundays.

The connectivity to this area is going to be better as the construction of the metro line to this area will be completed by 2015. The metro line will connect Janpath with Dariyaganj, Delhi Gate, Jama Masjid, and Red fort.

Parking in Janpath:

There is a facility of underground parking but due to increase in traffic it is hard to find any parking place here. Because of the facility of metro rail the traffic has reduced a little.  Also, one of the measures taken by government to control the traffic is increase in parking charges. Janpath and Palika market are located in Connaught place, parking place of palika which is furnished with better facilities is very popular.

Janpath market is located in Connaught place. To reach this place by metro rail till Connaught place(Rajiv Chowk Metro Station). To reach this place you have many options like Local train, Metro rail, Local bus, Taxi, Auto-rickshaw, etc. Best way to reach this place is metro rail, as almost all the metro train running in New Delhi passes through Connaught Place.
