Delhi Darshan

Planning for a Delhi Darshan or sightseeing in Delhi, then the best way to go about is opting for Delhi Darshan buses. You can either go for Delhi Darshan tourist buses operated by the Delhi government or by private operators.

Delhi Darshan HOHO Bus:

Delhi HOHO Buses are easily accessible and can be boarded from any major tourist spot. Above 13 touristHOHO Bus Delhispots are covered by the HOHO Buses in one day. For an easy understanding by the tourists, the HOHO buses are having 3 different routes.

Red Route:

The Red Route starts at Baba Kharak Singh Marg and makes its way to Jantar Mantar.

Tour Costs:
 
Indian -  Rs. 300 ( Adult ) , Rs. 150 (Child )
NRI -  Rs. 600 ( Adult ) , Rs. 300 ( Child )

Bus Timings:

HOHO Buses are available from the tourist spots every 45 minutes.
The first bus departs at 8.30 AM from Baba Kharak Singh Marg and the last at 4.45 PM.

Green Route:

The Red Route starts at India Gate and makes its way to Safdarjung Tomb.

Tour Costs:
 
Indian -  Rs. 300 ( Adult ) , Rs. 150 (Child )
NRI -  Rs. 600 ( Adult ) , Rs. 300 ( Child )

Bus Timings:

HOHO Buses are available from the tourist spots every 45 minutes.
The first bus departs at 8.15 AM from Pragati Maidan Metro Station and the last at 10.15 AM.

Red + Green Route:

The Red + Green Route starts at Baba Kharak Singh Marg and makes its way to Jantar Mantar.

Tour Costs:
Indian -  Rs. 500 ( Adult ) , Rs. 250 (Child )
NRI -  Rs. 1000 ( Adult ) , Rs. 500 ( Child )

Delhi DTC Bus Delhi Darshan:

The DTC Bus starts its journey at DTC Office Scindia House and then makes its way to  Akshardham Temple.

Tour Costs: Rs. 200 ( Adult ) , Rs. 100 (Child )

Bus Timings:The timing for DTC Bus Delhi Darshan is 9.15 AM picking up tourists from Information Kiosk of Delhi Tourism Baba Kharak Singh Marg and the tour ends at around 5.45 PM.

Delhi Darshn Rao Travels :

The Rao Travels Bus starts its journey at Dwarka sec 10 and Karol Bagh.
Tour Costs: Rs. 400 for all. Bus Timings:The timing for Rao Travels Bus Delhi Darshan is 8.30 AM from both the pick up points.

Though Delhi Darshan buses have some fixed tourist places, ensure that it covers the following attractions in Delhi which are not to be missed at any cost!

Delhi Darshan Places:

Red Fort:

Red Fort is another monument which is worth mentioning and visiting in this city of ancient structures. Red Fort in DelhiRed Fort is a huge complex built during the reign of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. The fort was built as the palace for the new capital, Shahjahanabad. The huge fort lies on the banks of the Yamuna River and its construction was completed in the year 1638. Touring the fort gives an inner pleasure of re-visiting the 17th century when Shah Jahan ruled the place.

Rajghat:

Rajghat is the memorial place of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The place still cries out the Rajghat in Delhiheroicism and the deeds of valor of Bapuji. The Rajghat reminds people of what Mahatma Gandhi did for the nation. The last rites of this great man were performed on 31st January, 1948 on this ground and since then the place remains a place of inspiration for all. Made of black marble, the memorial place is square shaped with his last words “Hey Ram’ inscribed in it. Not only is it a tourist spot but also frequent prayer services are held here.

National gallery of Modern Art:

National gallery of Modern Art is another place to visit for Art fans. The National gallery of Modern Art was initially the residential palace of Maharaja of Jaipur. Not far from India Gate, this place is totally administered by the Government of India.

India Gate:

India Gate is a treasured masterpiece which is visited by thousands every year. Considered the National India Gate Delhimonument of India, India Gate stands at the heart of Delhi.  This old monument was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and unveiled in the year 1972 by then Prime Minister of India Smt. Indira Gandhi as the Amar Jawaan Jyoti. The view of India Gate in the evening hours is a delight for people throng to have some good time to this place, not only tourists but locals too.

Purana Qila:

Purana Qila, established by Humayun in 1533 AD reached its completion in 5 years time, with Sher Shah as its Afghan ruler. The monument witnesses the blend of both Hindu as well Muslim elements. For Delhi Darshan, Purana Qila sure needs a visit and requires appreciation.

Humayun Tomb:

The next destination after Purana Qila would be the Humayun Tomb which is a majestic Mughal Humayun Tomb in Delhiarchitectural product. Humayun’s Tomb is a delight to the eyes for it is a piece of Persian Architct. Owned by the Mughal Emperor Humayun, the tomb was commissioned by his first wife Bega Begum. Located at Nizamuddin East and very close to Pura Qila, the site has been declared by UNESCO as a World heritage site in the year 1993.

Lotus Temple:

After shopping to the heart’s content, the next stop is the Lotus Temple where one can go to and Lotus Temple in Delhiexperience the Bahai place of Worship. It is a sight of wonder for people once they enter the premises of Lotus Temple.The temple is closed on Mondays.

Qutub Minar:

Known as the tallest Minar in India, the Qutub Minar is a treasured monument of India which is made up of sandstone and marble. It was started by the Mughal ruler Qutub-ud-din Aibak in the year 1192. The minar / tomb is 237.8 feet high making it one of the tallest known towers of the world. The Qutub Minar is easily reachable by metro and private vehicle as well. The metro station nearest to Qutub Minar would be Qutub Minar itself.

Dilli Haat:

Dilli Haat is another place where tourists visit to get their hands on traditional food and other artisans and accessories. With above 60 stalls and above 30 food stalls, people are given with innumerable options to shop and eat!

Safdarjung Tomb:

Amongst all other monuments in Delhi, Safdarjung is another tomb of antiquity. Built in the year 1754, the Safdarjung Tomb in DelhiSafdarjung Tomb is a dome shaped reddish brown and white colored structure. This tomb belonged to Safdarjung who was the chief minister during the reign of the Mughal Emperor Mohammad Shah Ahmed Shah. The tomb signifies the presence of the viceroys during the great Mughal rule who were rich and powerful. The Safdarjung Tomb is nearest to the Jor Bagh metro station and it also attracts a huge number of tourists owing to its design and antiquity.

Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum:

One can go and rewind back to the time when Indira Gandhi, the former Indian Prime Minister used to rule, by visiting her place of residence. The Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum is a window to the life of this legendary leader. The museum has very wonderfully preserved all her personal belonging in this museum.

Rashtrapati Bhawan:

Rashtrapati Bhawan is the official residence of the president of India which is also located in Delhi, thus making it a place to visit by tourists in Delhi. It is a sight of wonder though standing out as an architectural delight which stands overlooking the lush green lawns spread around India Gate. Delhi tour would never be complete without taking a stroll down the lanes of memory by visiting the National Museum of Delhi. The museum has artifacts collection dating back to as far as 5000 years. Jantar Mantar is a very remarkable structure built years back by Maharaja Jai Singh II for astronomical observations. Tourists are awed to see this amazing piece of structure designed years back for scientific purposes.
