Akshardham TempleAlso referred as Swaminarayan Akshardham, the Akshardham Temple Delhi is a vivid display of Indian culture & spirituality and reflects the beauty of art and architecture. The immense complex homes a temple crafted entirely of stone at the center.
In addition to that there is an exhibit on life of Swaminarayan, an IMAX film on his early life as a yogi named Nilkanth. There is a colurful musical fountain which cadence on the message of Upanishads. The complex is a unique blend of modernity and spirituality.
The construction of this marvelous architectural beauty took nearly 5 years. The main building of the Akshardham Temple at the center of the complex houses an 11 ft high, gilded cult image of Swaminarayan. Swaminarayan is a reformer of the 17th century. According to his followers he is believed to be an incarnation of God. Pink sandstone from Rajasthan and and Carrara marble from Italy have been used for the building. Standing tall at 141 ft it’s impressive presence, and its carved details of flora, fauna, dancers, musicians and Gods covering its surfaces from top to bottom, leave most visitors in awe. As one enters the temple premises, they witnesses the heritage of India its insights and peculiarity through exhibition, verdurous garden and other interactive sessions.

Hall of ValuesIt is a lifelike robotic presentation on universal values for mankind. The principal theme of this audio animatronic show is sculpting one's life for the eternal goals like happiness, peace etc. The 3D dioramas used for the show, provides a fresh and powerful experience for the visitors.
The Giant TheaterIt features a film on life of teenage yogi Neelkanth, Neelkanth Kalyan Yatra. This unique film features 18th century India and portrays holy places, festival and tradition of the country. The theater is Delhi's first large format screen.
Boat RideThis boat ride takes the visitor to a unique journey of 10000 years in approximately 12 minutes. It is a fascinating journey of India's heritage, life of the rishis, various inventions etc. The journey begins from world's first university and ends with message expressing hope for the future.
Musical FountainYagnapurush Kund is a combination of musical fountain and world's largest yagna kund. During night the fountain produces a mystical show with the chants of vadic mantra from the upnishands.

Bus Route: The best way to reach Akshardham Temple is through metro. Otherwise, one can take buses like 118 EXT, 347, 491, 543, 543B to reach Ganesh Nagar or Samaspur Jagir Village bus stop and take an auto rickshaw for the temple.
