Aadhar Cards in Delhi

Aadhar is the brand name of an initiative of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDIA). On behalf of the national government, the UIDIA has launched Aadhar as a 12-digit identification number for each citizen of India. This number will be used for an Indian citizen’s proof of address and identity, wherever in the country he may live.

Each number will be unique to each individual and will remain live for life. By using this number, he will be able to access all kinds of services, such as banking, availing of mobile phone connections, landline connections, infrastructural facilities such as procuring gas cylinders, and other governmental and non-governmental services. It is mandatory for all citizens of India to have an Aadhar card. It can be used as a ration card or passport is used as proof of identification and address.

How to register for your Aadhar card in Delhi:


An Indian citizen can go to any of the nearest Aadhar card centers in Delhi and register himself or herself there. Age is not a limitation, as children and infants are also covered under this initiative. Aadhar registration in Delhi calls for certain documents. These are:

Proof of identity:

For proof of identity, submit any one of the following:
  • Passport
  • Voter ID
  • PAN card
  • Photo Bank ATM or Credit Card
  • Ration/PDS Card
  • Address Card bearing your name and photo issued by the postal department
  • Govt. Photo ID
  • Kisaan Photo Passbook
  • Pensioner Card
  • NREGS Job Card
  • Freedom Fighter Card
  • Arms License

Proof of address:


For proof of address, submit any one of the following:
  • Passport
  • Bank Statement
  • Bank passbook
  • Post Office passbook
  • Address Card bearing your name and photo issued by the postal department
  • Ration Card
  • NREGS Job Card
  • Photo Bank ATM/Credit Card
  • Voter ID/Driver’s License
  • Water/Electricity/Telephone landline/Property Tax Receipt
  • Freedom Fighter Card
  • Credit Card Statement not older than the last three months
  • Arms License
  • Pensioner Card
  • Kissan Photo Passbook

Proof of date of birth:

For proof of date of birth, submit any one of the following:
  • Birth certificate
  • Passport
  • SSLC Certificate

Once you have your documents ready, you can take your documents to any registered Aadhar Enrollment Center in Delhi and ask for an appointment. Alternatively, you can fill out an appointment form online to book an appointment online. The form asks for your personal information such as your name, mobile number, e-mail, State in which you live, address and Enrolment Centre, and lastly your preferred date and time of appointment. Once you fill out the form completely, confirm your appointment by clicking the Fix Appointment button on the site.
