Jammu and Kashmir House in New Delhi
Jammu and Kashmir House in New Delhi consists of three blocks which have 4 suites for the VIPs, about 38 quarters for residential purpose and 57 rooms. This Bhawan is the residence and office of Resident Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir. This bhawan also has the residential place for Hon’ble Chief Minister of the state during his New Delhi visit, the sub-treasury, one circuit house, and office of Deputy Director Kashmir Bureau of Information.
The canteen of Jammu and Kashmir House in New Delhi has seating arrangement of 20 people. The kitchen of this canteen operates under the supervision of Mr. Sohan Singh Rawat, who is the main chef of this canteen. The daily menu has few dishes of Kashmir served in this canteen but if orders are placed well in advanced, other specialties of Kashmir can also be served in this canteen.
The best item to start off for the vegetarians is the Nadru Kebab, seekh kebabs that are prepared with Lotus Stems. Along with these kebabs, delicious green chutney is served. For the main course, Kashmiri Rajma, Dum Aloo, Hak Saag, Nadru Yakhni and Laal Paneer would the appropriated side dishes along with Vegetable Biryani and/or chapattis.
Non-vegetarians need not get disappointed as they also have many delicious side dishes to try. Andhra Bhawan in New Delhi
Andhra Pradesh Bhawan is located on Ashoka Road near India Gate. The Hyderabad House is located on one side of Andhra Pradesh Bhawan. Just opposite the Andhra Pradesh Bhawan, Raksha Bhawan is located. This bhawan is located about 15 KM from the Terminal I of Indira Gandhi International Airport and about 23 KM from the Terminal II of Indira Gandhi International Airport. From New Delhi Railway Station, the bhawn is about 5-6 KM away and from Old Delhi Railway Station, this bhawan is located about a distance of 10 KM.
Andhra Bhawan houses auditoriums and conference halls which are also given on rent for different types of events, seminar or picture screening. One such auditorium is Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium that has the capacity of 310 people. The ground floor has the capacity of 200 people and the balcony has the capacity of 110 people. Gurajada Conference Hall is also there which has the capacity of 40 people only. It is rented for conferences or meetings.
Andhra Bhawan Canteen is very famous for its spicy foods. People always queue up outside this canteen to taste some of the best regional foods from Andhra Pradesh State. Food coupon has to be brought to get the food served. Another small hall is there in Andhra Bhawan which is the Kandukuri Committee Hall which has the capacity of 10 seats and is rented for conferences or meetings. Reading room is located near the canteen and it is open from 10 AM to 5 PM. Medical Facilities are also available in Andhra Bhawan.
Delicious breakfast comprising of Idly, Vada, Masala Dosa is also served here. The catering of the guest house is done by a private caterer. Vegetarians would definitely enjoy a delicious Vegetarian Thali that will have Rasam, Rice, papads, pickles, curd, vegetable chutney and Kandi Podi. Orissa Niwas in New Delhi
Orissa Niwas is the official guest house of Orissa Government in New Delhi. It is also the office of Resident Commissioner of Orissa State. Orissa Niwas houses a canteen where authentic Oriya cuisines are served. The canteen also serves south Indian dishes. Thalis both veg and non-veg, combo meals and different types of snacks are served at this canteen at very affordable price. The dishes of this canteen which are in great demand are Pakhala or tempered rice, chuna mach, aloo bharta, prawn kasha masala and mustard fish. Among the desserts, chenna Poda and Rosogollas are very popular. The cost of meal for two people is approximately Rs. 300.
The official house of Kerala State Government in New Delhi is the Kerala House. Honorable Resident Commissioner of the State represents this house and maintains liaison with the central government. The house is located at Jantar Mantar Road. Before Independence, this house was the residential place of Maharaja of Cochin during his Delhi Visit for Chamber of Princes Session. The house was then called Cochin House. After India became independent, the house became the property of Kerala State. The administration of Kerala House is done under the supervision of the Controller of Kerala House. Guest House here is having two blocks.
There are 33 rooms in the main block including three suites for the VIPs. The additional blocks have 30 rooms. In the old block which is also called Cochin Palace, has a dormitory comprising of 12 beds. Goa Niwas is the official guest house of Goa Government in New Delhi. It also houses a restaurant named Viva ‘o’ Viva. The restaurant offers wonderful ambience with its brightly colored dining space which has a combination of green and bright yellow. The table mats have bright lamination showcasing the illustrations done by Mario Miranda, the famous Goan Cartoonists. A white board contains the hand-written menu of this canteen which also specifies special dishes of the day. All types of Goan Specialties are offered in this restaurant.
Though the prime attractions of this restaurant are the non-veg items but yellow dal served here is all time favorite for the veg as well as non-vegs. Pork and crab xacuti are very delicious which you can try with pao. Another specialty served here is Bebinca which comes with the taste of sweet coconut. Once you are here, you should not miss chocolate pudding which is just superb. While you eat your food, your eye will have soothing surrounding with bright décor and waiters dressed in bright colored Hawaiian shirts and soft Goan music in the background. The official guest house of West Bengal State in New Delhi is the Banga Bhawan. There are two guest house of West Bengal Government in New Delhi. One is located on the Hailey Road and the other one is located at Uma Shanker Dixit Marg. Assam House in New Delhi
The official guest houses of Assam State in New Delhi are the Assam House and the Assam Bhawan both located at Chanakyapuri. Apart from being the office and residence of the Residential Commissioner of the state, the guest house also has a restaurant named Jakoi serving traditional cuisines of Assam. Jakoi has a lounge with a look of drawing room, a formal dining area and a very beautiful fresco area. The Jakoi Restaurant signature “Parampara Thali” starts with Amla Soup which is very tasty. The main dish starts with Khar. Then it is moong dal which has the flavor of onion, dhania and turmeric in it. The other items of this traditional thali are Brinjal pakoris, Aloo Pitika, a mashed potato served with crushed mustard, mustard oil, chopped onions and green chillies. Fish paturi and mustard fish or Tanga Jhol are also there in the thali which ends with payesh or kheer.
Lunch is served from 12 noon to 3.30 PM and dinner is served from 7 PM to 10.30 PM. Parampara Thali costs about Rs. 400 but there are regular veg thali that costs about Rs. 200 and regular non-veg thali that costs about Rs. 250.

For the officials and the VIPs of Nagaland, Nagaland House is not only the office and formal residence but the canteen that it houses makes them feel home away from home with its special cuisines from the state. Nagaland House is the office of the Resident Commissioner of the state and represents the state in New Delhi. VIPs like the chief Minister, the Governor, the MPs and the MLAs stay here during their visit.
This house has eighty one rooms for accommodating the guests. Sixty eight rooms are double bed rooms and four are single bed rooms. The rooms have ACs, television and cable connection. Bihar Bhawan in New Delhi
The official centre for representing the Bihar State in New Delhi is the Bhiar Bhawan. This guest house has the accommodations for VIPs and various officials who come from the state to the state capital. It is also the office and residence of the Resident Commissioners of the Bihar State. Many cultural events are organized here. Himachal Pradesh State is represented by its two State Guest Houses in New Delhi, namely Himachal Bhawan located at Sikandara Road and Himachal Sadan located at Sardar Patel Marg New Delhi. Gujarat Bhawan located in New Delhi is the office of Resident Commissioner of Gujarat State who is responsible for representing the state in the National Capital and at the same time maintaining the liaison between the state and the Central Government. The State Government of Maharashtra has two guest houses in New Delhi. One is located at Copernicus Marg and the other one, the new building is located at Kasturba Gnadhi Marg. These two guest houses represent the state in the national capital.
